more friends coming today!
welcome to amy and sarah!
i had a really good time with my friend sara (who i know from high school). we had lots of nyc adventures. the first night we tried for student rush tickets for rent and both of our names were drawn! first row seats were great (although i did feel some of the sweat drops hit me :S). it was really cool to make eye contact with them. the hockey game on saturday was totally awesome! apparently these two teams (the nj devils and ny rangers) are one of the biggest rivalries in the nhl. the devils won! it was great that a dad and his young son sat next to us because the son would ask his dad some of the same questions i had and i would get to hear the answers! sunday night we went to tiger's tale with some cool folks. again, much fun! monday was our big day in the city: we went to see the statue of liberty, ellis island, chinatown, soho, times square, shopping, dinner at olive garden overlooking times square, a movie (16 blocks...really good) at loew's and a night at the holiday inn. on tuesday, we headed back down to battery park because sara wanted to buy a fake rolex for her husband and that was the only place we saw people selling them. we asked some of the shady looking guys if they had watches and they didn't but then one of them ran to get his friend. i thought that was pretty funny. all that for a fake rolex. and then, sara went home :(
but now, amy and sarah are coming! i pick amy up today at the airport at 1 and we pick sarah up at the bus station at 8:30ish. i think amy may get a tattoo during our waiting time. we'll see... don't really have any other set in stone plans for this week. probably going to philadelphia and driving to new rochelle, new york to eat at buffalo wild wings. and i have to work friday, saturday and sunday. that stinks. but at least it's shortened hours. all i know is that we'll have a ton of fun! this is our last hoo-rah together for a while. amy is headed to bulgaria for two years with the peace corp. sarah and i will both be working in maine again this summer.
