isn't it funny

how bad days come and go so quickly?

take that liberry

well, folks, i must say that i have conquered my libraryophobia. for the first time since i've come to school here, i have gone to the library this semester (unless you count the time i had to go for a class to see the cool old bibles). not only have i gone, i have used. i've checked out books on more than one occasion. i've gone to read things on reserve. i've mastered the awesome moveable stacks. and, today, i even wrote a paper there. don't worry, i'm not going to start packing up so i can live over there. i just wanted to say: hey, if you're scared of the liberry, don't be. there are cool things there!

the importance of being earnest

who doesn't love this:

"Due to poor and deteriorating weather conditions the Seminary's administrative offices will be closed today. Classes are cancelled
The Library will remain open, with the exception of the offices.
Thanks, German Martinez Director of Facilities"

i'm not one who is used to having classes cancelled for weather. i think once in my undergrad did we not have classes. i think midwesterners might not freak out as much ... either they are more used to it or they're more reckless/stupid/indifferent to the danger of the weather. who cares! i don't have class today! but i am very grateful that the liberry is going to be open. thanks very much to jenny who encouraged everyone to pray in earnestness for this!

i don't know why

but i had the song edelweiss in my head and i just needed to hear it. but, i'm pretty sure my sound of music cd is in my car. so i look on itunes. i was quite surprised that i had to search through eight people's music before i found it. i guess i thought more people would have some sound of music stuff... thanks to molly who actually did!

p.s. i listened to the song four times while creating this post! it's hard to find a good picture of edelweiss! i think it's out of my system now though...

it is well

"as a drop of water seems to disappear completely in a big quantity of wine, even assuming the wine's taste and color; just as red, molten iron becomes so much like fire it seems to lose its primary state; just as the air on a sunny day seems transformed into sunshine instead of being lit up; so it is necessary for the saints that all human feelings melt in a mysterious way and flow into the will of God."
